Grounding Touch with Chelsea Hecht

Bring care and attention to your body through a guided, self administered massage. This 60 minute offering is facilitated by licensed massage therapist Chelsea Enjer Hecht.

You will learn basic anatomy terms, simple stretches, and massage techniques such as acupressure, myofascial release, and Swedish strokes like effleurage and petrissage in a group setting via Zoom.

This class will focus on easing tension in the head, neck, shoulders, hips and feet, with time to address specific concerns of the group with personal attention given to body mechanics. Somatically arrive, emotionally check in, and mobilize the skin, fascia, and muscles to create change.

Materials needed are:

  • 1-2 ounces of skin friendly lotion or oil such as jojoba, extra virgin olive or coconut in a spill safe container

  • a towel to sit on

  • a clear space to lay down with a wall to lean on

Please wear loose fitting clothes like shorts with an elastic waistband and a loose t-shirt, or a sleeveless top, and note we will remain clothed for the entire class.

This class is not intended for treating musculoskeletal injuries and is not recommended for people who are pregnant.  

This class will be held online via Zoom. A link will be sent to participants within 72 hours of the class date.
